Overview

The Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) is a 1-year postgraduate-level diploma program affiliated with Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University, Jaipur. Designed for graduates who want to build strong computer application skills, this program combines 10 theory papers and 6 practical (laboratory) papers, offering both theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical expertise. It is the ideal bridge between a general graduation degree and a career in IT.

Duration

1 Year  •  2 Semesters

Candidate must pass the PGDCA course within 3 years of initial admission.

Eligibility
  • Any graduate with 10+2+3 from a recognized University
  • For Non-Rajasthan candidates — reservation as per university rules
Scheme of Examination (2023-24 & Onward)
  • Syllabus consists of 10 Theory Papers and 06 Practical (Laboratory) Papers
  • Each theory paper carries 100 marks — University Annual Examination of 3 hours duration
  • Each practical paper is of 2 hours duration on one day and carries 200 marks total
  • Medium of instruction and examination: English only (candidates may write in English or Hindi)
Theory Paper Pattern
  • 6 questions to be attempted in all
  • Q.1: 10 short answer questions (2 marks each) covering the whole syllabus — 2 questions from each unit
  • Q.2–Q.6: 5 Essay-type questions (16 marks each) — one from each unit with internal choice

Minimum Pass Marks
  • 36% in each theory paper
  • 40% aggregate in all theory papers
  • 50% separately in practical & project work
Division Classification
  • First Div. with Honour: ≥75% aggregate (all papers passed in first attempt)
  • First Division: ≥60% aggregate
  • Second Division: 48%–less than 60%
  • Pass: Minimum pass marks in each paper
